Technical Support

improve services and build capacity

The Need | Types of Assistance | Network

The Need

There are a myriad of medical and technical issues in HIV/AIDS. Indigenous Christians who LifeRise AIDS Resources serves most likely need additional knowledge and skills to be effective.

Examples of Technical Needs

For example, medical issues are involved in testing, treatment, and palliative care. Technical issues are involved in managing projects financially and programmatically.

Technical assistance may help grass roots partners deliver the most effective prevention messages, counsel a person living with HIV, implement best practices for orphan care, and utilize appropriate technologies for sustainability, among other services.

Types of Medical and Technical Assistance

LifeRise may draw from our own staff of AIDS specialists, as well as consultants and volunteers with professional skills to provide the following assistance.

  • Information on “best practices” and results of latest research applied to service delivery
  • Standards and guidelines
  • Tools, education materials, and training curricula
  • Training
  • Consulting on financial and program management
  • Ministry skills
  • Help to achieve sustainability

Network

To assist grass roots partners with medical and technical help, LifeRise goal is to develop a network for organizations that receive our entry-level grant (see Grants). LifeRise and grantees may share knowledge in this network.

We build capacity of grantees through technical support even if they do not qualify for higher level grants in our tiered system.
