About Us

understand our capacity

LifeRise AIDS Resources is a US charity founded in 2006 serving worldwide as a Christian response to HIV/AIDS. We partner with grass roots evangelical Christians in poor communities reaching out to those suffering because of HIV/AIDS. LifeRise provides resources, such as information on best practices, training, medical and technical consulting, ministry skills, and funding, to help local Christian organizations conduct AIDS prevention, treatment, and care and share the gospel.

The Need for Christian Response

Desperate HIV/AIDS Need

In three decades, HIV/AIDS has become a global epidemic causing much suffering and death. Tragic effects extend far beyond the health of individuals to the larger society, threatening families and social and economic structure. Resources and services are inadequate to meet pressing needs.

The World’s Solutions Have Failed

The secular world has exerted heroic effort to halt progression of HIV/AIDS. Philanthropists, politicians, and celebrities have devoted themselves to the cause and donated funds on a grand scale. Yet, the destructive course of HIV/AIDS has not been arrested. Fresh approaches and new partners are urgently needed.

The Church’s Response

The evangelical church has been slow to get involved. We've been like Jonah, sleeping in the hold of the ship while the storm rages on deck, allowing sailors who do not know our God to fight the storm alone. God is now calling the church to respond in this battle for lives in which the stakes are eternal. LifeRise along with our local partners are answering this call.

Unique Assets the Church Offers

  • Churches have considerable presence and reach, serving even the most remote communities.
  • Faith-based organizations (FBOs), particularly Christian missions, already provide most of the health and social services in poor countries. They need only expand to AIDS care.
  • The church is a powerful agent to change individual beliefs and values and shape societal norms.
  • Pastors have credibility in teaching, counseling, and emotional support in areas such as the value of life, suffering, morality, sexuality, and death and dying integral to AIDS.
  • Christian organizations are a source of committed personnel who are altruistically motivated to serve others with integrity.
